Summer is fast approaching. Have you started listing destinations to go for this summer? Or even a place to unwind from the busy streets this summer? To help you with that, here are some lists of your summer destinations:
1. Maravilla White Beach in Tabuelan

It offers an escape not just from the city life but also from the noise and crowds of the usual getaway destinations. It’s basically a public beach — like the ones in Moalboal (Basdaku) and Badian (Lambug) where you can freely enjoy the pristine white beach under the heat of the sun and even go “beaches camping”. All at no cost, but with one rule: LEAVE NO TRACE.
What’s best? There is No Entrance fee – for now, and No corkage. You can enjoy the beach freely.
Fees
Tables: php100-400 (depends on the table size)
Tents: php100 (overnight)
Transportation Fees: php100 (bus/person) and php40-50 (habal-habal/person)
Where to stay overnight?
What’s good is you can stay freely by the shore, if you have your own tents, and if you don’t have one, you rent. You can also stay in Maravilla beach Club.
Room Rates: P2, 000 good for 2pax (max of 3). All rooms are the same.


How to get there?
Exact location: Maravilla, Tabuelan, North-Western Cebu — 2-3 hours away from Cebu City.
For commuters:
From the North Bus Terminal, ride any bus going to Tabuelan. Drop off at Tabuelan Public Market – where you can buy ahead your food. From the Public Market, ride a motorbike or habal2x going to Maravilla Brgy Hall. Once you’ve arrived at the Barangay Hall, you will see a basketball court behind it. Walk through the eskinita or alley for about 3-5 minutes until you reach to the beach.
With vehicles:You can use Waze or Google Map to navigate the exact location given above, of Maravilla White Beach.
2. Dao/Dau Waterfalls in Samboan

Dao Waterfall offers not only an epic waterfall finale but it is the trek in that is truly astounding. For thirty minutes you wade through those trademarks Cebu blues, while ferns and palms cover the canyon walls on either side. The trek to Dao Falls itself isn’t hard but it does require you to walk through the water and navigate your way around boulders and rocks. It is covered in limestone and this means that the rivers and waterfalls have an incredibly smoky blue color to them. It isn’t just the Tiffany-Blue water that makes this an incredible trail. The vibrant green ferns, palms and jungle plants come at you from all angles and contrast against the blues.

Where to stay overnight?
You can stay at nearby beaches in Dao Falls, since they won’t let overnight stay there.
How to get there?
For Commuters:
To get to the Dao Falls in Samboan, you would have to take a bus bound for Barili at the Cebu South Bus Terminal. Just make sure to tell the driver or conductor to drop you off at Samboan. The trip will take around three to four hours, depending on the traffic. Upon reaching Samboan, you can hire a motorcycle to get you to the jump off point to the Dao Falls. It is advisable to have an arrangement with the motorcycle for hire driver to come back for you at an appointed time since it may not be easy to get a ride back to the town from the jump off point.
With Vehicles:
You can use Waze or Google map to guide you upon going to Dao Falls, or ask somebody that might help you to the way. Worry less since there’s a parking lot there intended for costumers.
3. Mt. Manunggal Eco Adventure Park “Baguio de Cebu” in Talamban

If you want to experience the cold breeze and lush green scenery from the likes of Baguio, want to experience from camping to sky biking, you are looking for Mt. Manunggal our Baguio de Cebu. It offers the following activities:

Where to stay overnight?
You can stay overnight at there campsite, just bring your own tents, set it and then enjoy the rest of the night.
How to get there?
Exact location: Brgy. Sunog, Balamban, Cebu — approx. 2 hours away from the city. Just about 1.5 kilometers after West 35, right turn to Brgy. Sunog.
For commuters:
Take a v-hire going to Balamban from the Ayala Center Cebu Terminal. Ask the driver to drop you off at the alley of Mt. Manunggal or Cantipla. Fare is P120 per person. 1.5-2 hours travel time.
To be specific, this is located approx. 1.5km km from West 35 if your route is through Lahug-Busay-Transentral Highway. You will see a tarp on the right side of the road saying “BAGUIO DE CEBU ECO PARK” (turn right) and from there it’s almost 2km to the Mountain. The journey going there is an adventure already. You will be passing a thrilling drive of a 3.0m max wide undeveloped road with sometimes a cliff on both sides of the road.
With Vehicles:
You can use waze or Google map to navigate the exact location of Mt. Manunggal given above.
4. Kinatarcan Island

It offers you the Flaunts long white sand beaches and magnificent overlooking views. This island also consists of a number of caves and a lagoon. It is one of the newly discover island that may give you peace of mind and away from the noisy city. They have other activities such as:

Overnight fee: php200/tent (bring your own tent)
Transportation fees: php192/head for bus, php10/head for tricycle and php100/head for boat
Driver/guide fee: php150/head for going to Laaw Lagoon for whole day
Where to stay overnight?
You can stay at the shore, just bring your own tents and pay the overnight fee. You can also stay in their triangle rooms for free, and you’ll just pay the overnight fee. Triangles rooms are first come, first use.
How to get there?
For commuters:
The travel time is about ~4 hours from Cebu City to Daan Bantayan + ~60 minutes from the port to Guintacan Island.
From the North Bus Terminal, take a bus bound for Daan Bantayan, tell the driver or the Bus conductor to drop you off at the Daan Bantayan Public Market. Then ride a tricycle going to the port bound for Guintacan Island where regular passenger boats are lining up. Ask for a boat bound to Pasil Kinatarcan Island. If you’re going there as a group, you can rent a boat from Daan Bantayan for only ₱1,500 round trip, can fit up to 20pax.
5. MSDEA Ornamental Garden

If you love gardens, or anything green and flowery stuff, this is the best place for you. MSDEA Ornamental Garden boasts a cool environment in a garden of heaven with the view of the mountains of Cebu City, the perfect place to unwind, relax and de-stress.

Entrance fee: php60 for kids & adult (20% discount for senior citizens)
Cottage fee: php500 for 3-4 hours, including corkage (free use for below 3 hours)
Where to stay overnight?
You can stay in their rooms for Php 2,000/night for 2-4 per person.
How to get there?
Exact location: Pung-ol, Brgy. Sibugay, Cebu City is only 30 minutes away from the main road (JY Square Mall). This is located before Sirao & Ayala Heights, from the city going to Balamban. Only a few meter away from Sibugay Barangay Hall.
*BY MOTORBIKE: From J.Y. Square Mall, take a habal-habal that will take you directly to MSDEA Ornamental Farm for ₱400 roundtrip, good for 2 persons already. The driver may ask you for additional waiting fee of ₱100-200 per hour depending on your haggling talent. The ride will take 30-45 minutes to get there.
*BY VAN: From the Ayala Cebu PUV Terminal, you can ride a v-hire going to Sirao for ₱50 /head (one-way). Ask the driver to drop you off near Sibugay Barangay Hall. From there, ride a habal-habal going to the flower garden but it may take time to find one from this point, fare is ~₱20-30 /head.
*BY OWN CAR: Navigate with Waze or Google Maps and pin your location to “MSDEA Ornamental Farm”. Parking fee is available.

6. Snow World Cebu

8. Cancalanog Falls in Alegria

It is one of the most incredible spots on Cebu and it remains off the beaten path. While it isn’t a massive waterfall it boasts some incredibly transparent, fresh water in a stunning watering hole. It’s the best place to unwind, since it is far from the city and it’s not crowded. In short, it is a peaceful place to stay in this summer.

You can stay in the nearby resorts since they won’t let overnight stay there.
How to get there?
For commuters:
If you are coming from Cebu City, take a bus ride from the Cebu South Bus Terminal and tell the driver to drop you off at Sangi, Alegria. From here, you can take a habal-habal ride (motorcycle for hire) and tell the driver that you want to go to Cancalog Falls. It is advised that you ask the driver to fetch you back on a specific time because there is no other transportation that plies the route.
With vehicles:
You can use waze or Google map to navigate the exact location Cancalog Tinubdan Falls.
9. Paradise Hills Mountain Resort

How to get there?
Exact location: Barangay Buluang, Compostela Cebu — just a few meters from the entrance of Q-Park Calvary. More or less 1 hour travel time from the city.
From SM CITY CEBU, you can ride V-hire going to Danao ETT: 1 hour and 10 minutes Fare: ₱50 Or jeep going to Danao (27 = Jeep Number) Fare: ₱20-25. Just tell the driver to drop you off at “Skina Buluang”. For there, there are motorbikes or halal-habal and tricycles at the skina, tell them that you’re going to “Paradise Hills Mountain Resort”. Fare is ₱10-20 per head.
If you’re bringing your own vehicle, just navigate via Waze and search for “Q-Park Compostela”. Once you have reached to the destination, you can ask around for the directions for Paradise Hills Mountain Resort.
10. Lambug White Beach in Badian

How to get there?
Exact location: Brgy. Lambug, Badian, Southern Cebu is only 3 hours away from the city.
For commuters:
From the South Bus Terminal, take a bus going to Badian or Oslob. Fare is P140. Tell the bus driver to drop you off at the town center or “lungsod” of Lambug Badian. Travel time is approximately 3 hours.
From the town proper, ride a tricycle going to Lambug Beach. Fare is P30 per person. Travel time is 20-30 minutes. You can park your car or motorcycles for a very minimal fee.
